National law firm recognized for its “collaborative advocacy for LGBTQ+ communities nationwide.”
Lambda Legal honored the law firm of Jenner & Block at its annual Bon Foster Civil Rights Celebration today at the Art Institute of Chicago.
“We are tremendously grateful for the steadfast partnership we have enjoyed with Jenner & Block,” Lambda Legal Midwestern Regional Director Douglas Curtis said. “Jenner & Block’s commitment to community and pro bono service over the years has been critical in the pursuit and protection of civil rights and civil liberties for so many. Their zealous and independent advocacy for their clients continues to set them apart as champions of justice.”
The Bon Foster Civil Rights Celebration is Lambda Legal’s annual fundraising event in Chicago and is named in honor of Robert Bonvoulior “Bon” Foster, the late civil rights activist and attorney and former Jenner & Block attorney. A generous bequest from Bon’s estate founded Lambda Legal’s Midwest regional office in 1993.
“The Bon Foster event is very special to us. The legacy of Lambda Legal’s Midwest office, and the victories secured here, are a result of Bon’s vision and generosity. We gather annually in his name, for an event that celebrates our community – the vision of all who came before, those who fight today and everyone who wants a better tomorrow,” Curtis added. “Today, especially, as we confront a challenging national environment, gatherings like this demonstrate that our commitment to service and community will stand firm for many years to come.”
