Lambda Legal is proud to announce that it has been selected as the official beneficiary of the 2025 Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run®, organized by Front Runners New York (FRNY), the world’s largest LGBTQ+ running club. Hundreds of Front Runners members selected Lambda Legal as the 2025 beneficiary in support of its vital work to protect and advance LGBTQ+ rights and the rights of people living with HIV, especially in this political climate in which Lambda Legal has filed at least five lawsuits against the Trump administration’s anti-LGBTQ+ policies.
Celebrating its 44th anniversary, this year’s 4-mile race will take place during NYC’s official Pride Weekend festivities, on Saturday, June 28, 2025, in Central Park under the banner “The power of our community”.
The 2025 Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run® sold out in just three hours, with more than 8,000 runners set to participate in a race that celebrates resilience, inclusion, and joyful resistance. In a historic first for Lambda Legal, the organization will receive a portion of the funds raised through participants’ grassroots fundraising – supporting its vital work to protect and advance LGBTQ+ rights and the rights of people living with HIV.
“We’re running for our rights. For our youth. For our joy and for justice,” said Andreas Schwarz, Director of Institutional Giving at Lambda Legal, “We are super excited to team up to bring visibility to our community and our work.
“The Pride Run has always been about more than just miles; it’s about visibility and resilience and the power of our community – and those who support us – showing up for each other. Partnering with Lambda Legal this year feels especially meaningful at a time when our rights are being challenged across the country. Together, we’re running not just for ourselves, but for everyone still fighting to be seen, heard, and protected,” said J Solle, 2025 Front Runners New York LGBT Pride Run Director.
“This event shows that advocacy doesn’t just happen in courtrooms. We will be running for our rights and in the name of trans and nonbinary community members whose rights to run and participate in sports and access to many services are being banned across the country,” said Lambda Legal CEO, Kevin Jennings.
