Lambda Legal CEO Kevin Jennings issued the following statement in support of LGBTQ+ and Immigrant communities in Minnesota:
“Today, we stand in firm alliance with our LGBTQ+ allies and indeed all in Minnesota as they confront the violence of federal agents targeting immigrant communities in that state. We share in the grief and anger at the killing of Renee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti, and our hearts go out to Renee’s wife and children, and to the family of Alex Pretti.
“We are following the lead of Outfront Minnesota and our other allies on the ground in Minnesota as they face the continued attacks by ICE and border patrol agents. We acknowledge as Outfront Minnesota does that, while the organized federal violence has taken from us a beloved member of the Minnesota LGBTQ+ community, the targets are our immigrant communities and those who look or sound like them. The terror and violence being visited upon them is unconscionable, and we stand in solidarity with Outfront Minnesota and all who are putting their bodies on the line to confront and document these attacks.
“We invite all to join us in support of our Minnesota allies. More information and the joint statement Lambda Legal has signed can be found here. OutFront has also asked us and others to Stand with Minnesota.
“For Renee, Alex, our immigrant communities, and all who continue to stand up to discrimination, hate, and violence.”
