Peer-to-Peer Fundraising

Peer-to-peer fundraising is a great way to share Lambda Legal’s work with your friends, family, and community—and raise money to defend and expand rights for the LGBTQ+  community and everyone living with HIV. 

Peer-to-peer fundraising multiplies your individual impact: Say you want to donate $100 to Lambda Legal. By starting a P2P campaign, you could challenge your friends to match your $100—and if five friends join in, you’ve just raised $600 for the cause!

New to peer-to-peer fundraising or need a refresher? Find answers to your questions here.

  • Peer-to-peer (also known as P2P) fundraising allows individual supporters to use a simple online platform to engage their networks and raise money on behalf of Lambda Legal—while tracking your progress in real time.

  • The first step is deciding what type of fundraiser you want to host. It can be a celebration for a special occasion, a tribute in someone’s memory, an individual fundraiser, a team fundraiser, a fitness fundraiser, or a streaming fundraiser. Once you’ve chosen, follow the links below to create a fundraising page that can be shared with your community.

    If you are an individual or team, we recommend setting up a personal fundraising page via Classy.

    If you are an individual or team interested in streaming on Twitch or YouTube, we recommend starting a fundraising campaign on Tiltify.

    If you would like to fundraise for your birthday, wedding or pay tribute to a loved one who is no longer with us, we recommend filling out our registry form. Our staff will set up a donation page for you to share.

    1. You can log in to classy.org if you already have an account or create a free account here.
    2. Create a page and set your fundraising goal and end date.
    3. Create a headline that tells people why you are fundraising for Lambda Legal.
    4. Personalize your URL.
    5. Click finish! This will bring you to a fundraiser dashboard that allows you to continue to customize your page. You can easily edit this information via your dashboard and the manage button.
    1. Create a tiltify.com account and campaign here. Or sign in if you already have an account.
    2. Customize your campaign by choosing your campaign name, creating a custom URL, adding an event description—including why you are fundraising for Lambda Legal—and set your campaign goal.
    3. You can edit your campaign at any time. Navigate to the dashboard, click campaigns, and select the campaign you would like to edit. You can then click setup and complete the details.
    4. Add a schedule, milestones, or incentives like targets, rewards, and polls.
    5. Publish your campaign and begin streaming!
