“Visibility as Power” virtual event streams March 28 at 7 p.m. ET on Kinema with special guests Miss Peppermint and Vico Ortiz
Lambda Legal will co-host “Visibility as Power” an exclusive virtual movie night on March 28 at 7 p.m. ET in honor of Trans Day of Visibility—a moment to celebrate trans lives and mobilize support for equality. Emmy-nominated actor, acclaimed storyteller, and transgender trailblazer Scott Turner Schofield will screen his award-winning film Becoming a Man in 127 EASY Steps to kick off the evening.
Following the screening, Schofield will join Lambda Legal’s Lake Geslani, advocate Miss Peppermint (RPDR Season 9), and actor Vico Ortiz (Our Flag Means Death) in a live discussion about the unprecedented landscape that trans and nonbinary communities are facing today and the importance and power of trans and nonbinary storytelling.
“Visibility as Power” will be free and accessible to audiences across the country, streaming via Kinema. Throughout the event, attendees will be able to donate directly to Lambda Legal to support the organization’s vital work.
“This isn’t just a film—it’s a call to action,” said Scott Turner Schofield. “At a time when trans and nonbinary rights are under attack, stories remind us of our shared humanity. This isn’t just my story—all trans and nonbinary people have powerful stories that make change in our communities. Partnering with Lambda Legal ensures that visibility translates into real support for the heroes fighting our battles in the courts.”
The virtual movie night co-hosted by Lambda Legal for Trans Day of Visibility ensures that anyone, anywhere, can participate in this critical conversation and meaningfully support the work of an organization fighting the onslaught of hateful, anti-trans legislation and discriminatory executive orders. As the nation’s leading legal organization defending the rights of LGBTQ+ people and everyone living with HIV, Lambda Legal has been at the forefront of the fight against anti-trans legislation, health care discrimination, and attacks on fundamental freedoms.

A visionary advocate for trans inclusion in Hollywood, Scott collaborates with major studios and streaming platforms to create sensitive, progressive transgender representation. Deeply rooted in community activism and advocacy, Scott’s 2013 TEDx Talk, “Ending Gender,” became a resource for expansive acceptance.
