“I hate to say we told you so, but a notorious lawbreaker, Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis, has asked the Supreme Court to overturn our landmark victory, Obergefell v. Hodges, and end marriage equality in the United States.
Let me be clear: lower courts have found Ms. Davis’ claims to be specious, and we believe the Supreme Court will reject her petition. But anyone who thinks our opponents will give up is deluded. They are tenacious and determined and relentless.
I’ve got bad news for them: So are we.
We didn’t fight for over 20 years to win marriage equality to let it be taken away from us now. Lambda Legal will be even more tenacious and determined and relentless than our opponents. We may not have as much money as they do, but we will never give up the fight.
To all same sex couples out there, I want you to know this: Lambda Legal has your back.”
