Santiago Vazquez (he/him/él) is a paralegal based in our Western Regional Office where he supports Lambda Legal’s Chief Legal Officer and the Help Desk team.  Santiago is originally from Pico Union, Los Angeles, and graduated as a Gates Millennium Scholar from the University of California, Berkeley, with his B.A. in Legal Studies and Public Policy.

After college, Santiago’s first priority was to use his formal education to give back to the immigrant community he comes from by working for the Organization for Refuge, Asylum, and Migration (one of the first international non-profit organizations to exclusively support refugees who identify as LGBTQ+). Prior to joining Lambda Legal, Santiago was a Charles B. Rangel International Affairs Scholar at the U.S. Department of State and a Human Rights Center Fellowship recipient at UC Berkeley’s School of Law. In his free time, Santiago travels back to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and competes on the Pasadena Men’s Division II Rugby team.
