This brief refutes assertions presented by the North Coast Women’s Care Medical Group that the religious beliefs that motivated their refusal to offer fertility treatment to a lesbian are protected. While a doctor may object to performing a certain medical procedure, he cannot selectively discriminate who he will provide his services to based on protected personal characteristics such as sexual orientation.
