Inclusive immigration

LGBTQ+ immigrants have unique legal needs, particularly as many are likely to be persecuted based on their identity or HIV status.

That’s why our country needs immigration policies that actually reflect the experiences of LGBTQ+ and HIV-positive immigrants—whether they’re fleeing persecution in their home countries because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or HIV-positive status, or facing a high risk of abuse in detention centers.

Lambda Legal advocates for humane and nondiscriminatory immigration reform that is designed to be inclusive of LGBTQ+ people and immigrants living with HIV. And we stand up when law enforcement at the border deprives vulnerable LGBTQ+ immigrants of dignity and justice.
