The Lambda Legal Atlanta Leadership Council (ALC) is proud to announce that Sandy Mollett and Andrew Cuomo will serve as Co-Chairs for its annual Atlanta benefit, taking place on August 23, 2026, at the Georgia Aquarium. As Event Co-Chairs, Mollett and Cuomo will help galvanize local, corporate, and grassroots support for Lambda Legal as it continues its critical work advancing full lived equality for LGBTQ+ people and everyone living with HIV.
“I am truly honored to serve as this year’s Atlanta event co-chair alongside Andrew Cuomo,” said Mollett. “I look forward to celebrating our resilience and highlighting the vital work of Lambda Legal at a time when attacks on the LGBTQ+ community remain relentless. Even as opponents outspend us three to one in efforts to erode our civil rights, your support fuels our courage, hope, and determination to achieve full equality and justice.”
Cuomo emphasized the urgency and impact of the organization’s work: “Lambda Legal stands at the forefront of challenging discriminatory laws and policies, making it clear that we will not stand by as rights are threatened. Through strategic litigation, policy advocacy, and public education, the organization leads with purpose and resolve. It is a privilege to partner with Sandy Mollett and the entire Host Committee to make this year’s event a powerful success.”
Mollett added, “Confronting injustice requires collective action. Whether you identify as an ally, advocate, or accomplice, your support matters—even if you have not experienced these challenges firsthand. We are counting on you.”
“In this moment, many are asking how they can contribute to the fight for justice,” Cuomo said. “You can take action today by sponsoring the event, purchasing tickets, or joining the Host Committee or ALC. Together, we can build a future where each generation enjoys greater freedom than the last.”
The Atlanta benefit will be held on August 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the Georgia Aquarium. The event will feature a brunch, cocktails, an update from Lambda Legal CEO Kevin Jennings, and a performance by the Atlanta Freedom Bands’ MetroGnomes.
